I know that saying 2020 has been a very unique year is an understatement. Many people are going through hardships and EVERYONE is facing uncertainty.
I have good news, however.
Over the last little while I’ve learned firsthand that we have A LOT more control over our fate, career, life, and circumstances than we acknowledge.
Right now is a great time for self reflection — yourself, your career, and whatever you want to do with your life.
Last year I went through a rough patch where I felt lost in my career. I responded by doing some deep soul searching to identify my strengths and what value I had to offer the world.
I reached out to three trusted co-workers, who I had worked with extensively and who knew me well both professionally and personally. I asked each team member what they perceived were my three greatest strengths.
This was a game changer for me.
Their perspectives helped me understand how others perceive me and the unique value I could provide the world.
Boosted by my friends’ input, a few months later I garnered the courage to pursue my dreams and started DeepSky Consulting, LLC.
Today I’m doing work that I’m passionate about and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
Although I’m facing as much uncertainty as anyone, I’m really optimistic about the future.
The future is as bright as we make it.
